Coronavirus India
#1
Coronavirus in India is now the world’s fastest growing epidemic and India is slowly becoming the epicentre of the virus. The initial lockdown was a major failure and now public fatigue has kicked in. Social distancing is not being followed adequately, lockdowns are much less strict and slowly its going back to business as usual. However, cases are growing exponentially with the current daily increase in cases being 40k. The most worrying detail is that India is no way near it’s peak. Does anyone have any idea as to what the government can do to help curb the spread of the virus? Is India doomed?

The situation is has become extremely troublesome and it seems to be worsening everyday. I have heard many stories of patients being refused beds in hospitals for not being able to pay the huge sums of money that private hospitals are asking for. Coronavirus is truly showing the ill effects of wealth inequality in India. I recently read an article on bloomberg about how the virus has exposed the true wealth inequality that exists in India. The consequences of the spread of this virus are going to be devastating, especially to the poor. What we are seeing now is just the tip of the iceberg.
