Hepatitis C drugs help combat Covid-19 in trials

I have been hearing new medicines and new drugs being effective in trials every week now. If they can sustain such a high level of success (94%), then this might be great news to us . Both otherwise, I am still largely skeptical whether these drugs will have any effect or not.

Hydroxychloroquine was also supposedly promising but it didnt go anywhere. All these drugs seem to tell the same story.

Remdesivir, a drug which America has paid to capture 90% of its production, might cost around $3000 a dose. That's after insurance. How can the middle-class afford that with an uncertainty in its success rate? In fact, they could sell the drug at $10 a dose and still make a profit.
